Laravel developer · Remote

A remote Laravel developer for the Netherlands and Belgium.

I design, build and maintain Laravel and Vue.js web applications for companies across the Netherlands and Belgium. I work fully remotely, as a freelancer and as your single point of contact. I work with AI assistants: from idea to a working proof of concept within days, reviewed and tested by me.

Who I am

Nine years of Laravel, one person to talk to.

I'm Robbin Thijssen, a full-stack web developer. For more than nine years I have been building web applications with Laravel and Vue.js, for clients from small businesses to large enterprises. My home base is Enschede, but most projects I deliver remotely.

I work as a freelancer, so you talk to the person who writes the code. Most of my work is backend: data models, business rules, APIs and the integrations that tie them to other systems. I build the Vue.js or Blade front end too, so a feature goes from idea to production without being passed between people.

Working remotely

Remote work that does not feel remote.

The Netherlands and Belgium share a time zone, so we work within the same office hours. This is how I keep it clear:

01

Fixed touchpoints

A kick-off over video, then a weekly update. You never have to guess where the project stands.

02

A staging link

You follow the work on a test environment and respond to what is really there, not to a description of it.

03

Short lines

A question by email or chat usually gets an answer within one business day, from the developer rather than a planner.

04

Work you can hand over

Code in your own repository, tested and documented, so your team or the next developer can continue without me.

What I build

Laravel work, from new products to old codebases.

Clients usually come to me with one of these five jobs. After a short call you get a clear quote.

1

Web applications and internal tools

A new product or a tool for your own team, from design to going live.

2

Links with the systems you already use

A link between your accounting and your web shop, so nobody retypes figures any more.

3

Exchanging data between systems

Data arrives in the right format automatically and wrong input is refused.

4

Laravel upgrades and maintenance

Bringing an ageing application up to a current version and keeping an old codebase healthy.

5

Proof of concept and MVP

A working prototype of the most important part within days, to test an idea. A starting point for an MVP, not a finished product.

AI as a working method.

I work with AI assistants, but I do not sell them as a service. They take over the routine work, so a working prototype of the most important part can be running within days. I decide how it is put together and read and test every line myself. A proof of concept is not a finished product: real use still needs testing, security and review.

Tracker, my own tool for tracking work and bugs, had login by emailed code and data import and export on day one, and was live. I built a registration app for a school the same way.

Where I work

The Netherlands and Belgium, remotely.

You do not need to be near Enschede. I work for clients across the Netherlands and in Belgium, fully remotely. If you would like to meet in person, I am happy to visit for a kick-off or workshop, especially in Twente and the surrounding region.

  • The Netherlands: remote
  • Belgium: remote
  • Twente (Enschede, Hengelo, Almelo): remote or on site
