Nine years of Laravel, one person to talk to.
I'm Robbin Thijssen, a full-stack web developer based in Enschede. For more than nine years I have been building web applications with Laravel and Vue.js, for clients ranging from small and medium-sized businesses to large enterprises.
I work as a freelancer, so you talk to the person who writes the code. That keeps decisions short and explanations honest. Most of my work is in the backend: data models, business rules, APIs and the integrations that tie them to other systems. I build the Vue.js or Blade front end on top as well, so a feature can go from idea to production without being passed between people.
Laravel work, from new products to old codebases.
Clients usually come to me with one of these five jobs.
Web applications and SaaS platforms
New products and internal tools built on Laravel, with a Vue.js or Blade front end. Tested, deployed and documented, so the next developer can pick them up.
APIs and integrations
REST APIs and the connections to the tools you already use: payment providers such as Stripe and Mollie, CRM and ERP synchronisation, webhooks and event-driven flows.
Data exchange between systems
When two systems describe the same thing in different ways, something has to translate. I build mapping layers that convert incoming data to the format your system expects and refuse input that cannot be right.
Laravel upgrades and maintenance
Moving an ageing application to a current Laravel and PHP version, refactoring it, and keeping a long-lived codebase healthy while it keeps running.
Self-hosted tooling
Software you run on your own server instead of renting it. I work this way myself, with an issue tracker and a single sign-on server that I built and host.
Four steps, no surprises.
Every project follows the same outline, whether it takes three weeks or three months.
Scope
A short call to understand the problem, then a clear proposal with fixed price or day rate.
Plan
We agree on the technical approach, milestones, and a realistic timeline before any code gets written.
Build
Weekly check-ins and a staging link you can follow along with, so nothing arrives as a surprise.
Ship
Deployed, documented, and handed over. There's a support window afterwards if anything needs fixing.
I quote a fixed price or a day rate, whichever suits the project better.
Work you can look at.
Three case studies show how this works in practice. Each one describes the problem, what I built and what came out of it.

Enschede, Twente and the rest of the Netherlands.
I am based in Enschede, so a meeting in Hengelo, Almelo or anywhere else in Twente is a short drive. For projects further away, remote works just as well: I work on site or remotely, anywhere in the EU.
Planning, weekly check-ins and a staging link you can follow work the same from a distance as they do across one table. A kick-off or workshop at your office is easy to arrange when it helps.
